Couples Therapy
Do you feel like you and your partner keep ending up in the same place and reacting in the same ways that leave you feeling alone and misunderstood?
Couples therapy can help you shift out of patterns, improve communication, and develop ways of resolving conflict.
Individual Counselling
Counselling can be useful if you're struggling with emotional difficulties that affect your ability to function or to reach your full potential. It can help resolve current life stresses or address longstanding issues, including childhood abuse, post-traumatic stress, sexual difficulties, bereavement, depression and anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders.
Said the river: Imagine everything you can imagine, then keep on going.

What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Counselling and Psychotherapy both involve talking to a therapist to help process and resolve issues of an emotional, personal, relational or behavioural nature. Although there is no definitive distinction between Counselling and Psychotherapy – in general counselling helps us to deal with specific life issues affecting us in the here and now and psychotherapy helps us to deal with more deep rooted issues related to past experiences which are causing difficulties in our life and relationships.
What does Counselling and Psychotherapy offer?
A safe, contained and non-judgmental environment in which you may explore in confidence issues relating to your past and present experiences with the intention of:-
- Increasing self-understanding
- Increasing understanding of self in relation to others
- Increasing awareness of options for change
- Increasing ability to act for change where this is desired
- Patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving are formed early in life in relationship to significant others. They can become fixed in ways that are unhelpful and self limiting. These restrictive, habitual patterns may affect the choices available to you and the potential you have for healthy relationships and a fulfilling life.
Through the considered and intentional use of relationship we will help you unravel and make sense of the ways in which you may sabotage your own needs and desires.
Who is it for?
Therapy is for any individual of any age who may be experiencing difficulty or distress who wants to talk in confidence to a trained professional who is not a friend or family member. You might not know exactly what is troubling you and need time to let your story unfold. Some of the issues however you could receive therapy for are:-
- relationship difficulties
- anxiety
- depression
- trauma
- stress
- bereavement and loss
- childhood abuse
- life crisis and change
What is our Treatment Philosophy?
There is growing recognition that the relationship between therapist and client is probably the most significant component in successful therapy and that no single theoretical approach can meet the diversity and complexity of the human experience. We therefore believe it is of primary importance to establish an effective therapeutic relationship where any issue can be addressed. We draw on a wide knowledge base in order to meet the unique and specific needs of each individual client.
We acknowledge and respect the First Nations, Metis and Inuit Peoples upon whose traditional territories we work and live throughout Canada.
